BAK25 | BAKUAGE RxA COLLAB 2025「BUNDRIO ブンドリオ」

Back in September of 2024, Christian reached out to me about an idea for a collab. The idea was the word “BAKUAGE” in Kanji with an explosion behind it, inspired by a recent meme he himself had in one of his videos. The original plan was to create a single design that chromatically changes across all six members and release it by Thanksgiving for everyone amid the airing of the series. However, the more I work on this project, the more differences among each unique member of the team I recognize. Creating one design for the whole team wouldn’t do each member justice. Hence, a week-long project extended into a four month journey.

Each member of the team has their own unique design, each with their unique symbols and vehicles and backgrounds. After finishing the sixth member, I came back to the original sketch. I thought to myself, how do I preserve the ongoing concept of the collection while still incorporating the original idea into one of the designs? Do I put all six members into a single shirt again? Or should I pick one member that represents the entire Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger itself… 

This shirt is the combination between the original and the new, with Bondurio as the centerpiece as well as his BoonBoom Trailer form. The background is inspired by exhaustion smoke red paint and calligraphic ink splash nested together into an explosion. On the bottom reads「Rinkitori x Antwan 2025”」
